This weekend was so crazy busy, but I loved every minute of it.
Friday night I rushed up to Dallas after work to meet my fiance. He had a whole night planned for me that started with dinner and drinks at Texas de Brazil. So. Good. Next, I treated him to a cupcake for dessert and we were off to the Lizard Lounge. Such a historic and beautiful building. It also doubled as the perfect place to take in a show by Fedde Le Grand, a Dutch DJ whose most recognizable song is “So Much Love.” I’m usually not a concert person, but I could do a show like this any day.
The last time I stayed up till 4 a.m. I was living in New York, but it was so worth it. Saturday, I was asked to be a special guest at the U.S. Marine Reserves’ Family Day. They signed me up to play in the volleyball tournament and our team took 2nd place. It’s been a while since I have played and I was definitely sore the next day.
Saturday night was the wedding of one of bridesmaids. Such a beautiful ceremony underneath these giant trees. The perfect canvas for such a beautiful bride. There isn’t another girl I know who has more Texas blood running through her than Lindsey. I couldn’t be more happy for this girl and couldn’t be more blessed to have her in my life!
I mingled with some Baylor professors that I had for some classes. Boy, did they shower me with compliments. I am thankful that I had great teachers that care about my future. It feels good to make them proud. I also got a chance to see some friends that I haven’t seen since college. And shake my thang!
Sunday, I was beyond the point of exhaustion. After consecutive late nights, I decided to take the day for myself. A good long run and a leisurely (amazingly) trip to the grocery store were about all I could handle.
I wouldn’t mind having more weekends like this.
