The Toughest Half In Texas

Bearathon

Today, I ran the Toughest Half in Texas. And in my opinion, it was the toughest half in the world. 13.1 miles through a park. However, this was not a normal park. This park had hills… No, no mountains! It was, quite frankly, the toughest thing I have ever put my body through.

The few days leading up to race day, I found myself getting pretty nervous. I was convinced that I hadn’t trained enough and was going to fail miserably.

So I made my goal to finish.

And in 2 hours and 22 minutes, that’s exactly what I did. Not only was this something that I wanted to knock off of my 30 for 30 list. It was also something I wanted to do before I got married. Call it a Leap List item of sorts. Although painful, even 12 hours later, the fact remains that I finished. I pushed myself to new limits. This is something that I never thought I would ever do in my life, and I did it.

And you guessed it, I feel like I can do anything in my life and that I am a strong woman. I feel even more prepared to be a great wife to my amazing future husband and a great mom to my future children. As for my job? Watch out… Because this girl is taking over!

Let’s Go!
