OTS by Jess: Day Sixteen

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” -Psalms 16:11

I got a phone call at work today that made me smile. It was a nice man named Sonny Moss, a name that he claims is a contradiction in itself. Apparently, moss only grows in the shade. Of course, a girl from California would know that.

In my conversation with Sonny Moss, I felt like I was completely being myself… and quite frankly, I made an impression. He sent me a very nice email afterward telling me how much he enjoyed our conversation. I’m pretty sure he also said something about how the world should be full of people like me, but I don’t want to brag.

I’ve been so worried about being someone on the air. Like I’ve said before, I’m a people pleaser. And as much as this sounds like Richard Simmons Theology, the only person I need to be is… me.

I would encourage others to do the same.

For me, that means being a pusher and a go-getter. It also means being a light. Find out what that means for you and go for it. Like all of us here in Baylor Nation are saying these days, “Go Catch Your Dream.” Don’t just wish, don’t just reach…

Go. Catch. It.

I hope this makes up for the depression-inducing post from yesterday…
