“The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord will receive my prayer.” -Psalms 6:9
As I hinted at in my last post, one of the things I love about this journey is that I am not alone. When my boyfriend left for OTS, I sent him off with one of my favorite verses. It’s in the book of Joshua and talks about going boldly in the way that Lord has called you, because He is with you every step of the way.
Even when we are weak, He is there.
I received a tremendous compliment today. After meeting with a former professor of mine, she looked at me and said I looked “exquisite.” Not just pretty, or good, or nice… Exquisite.
Let me define that one for you… The definition of exquisite is: of special beauty or charm, or rare and appealing excellence.
Incredible, right? She went on to tell me that everything must be coming together for me in the right way because it shows in my face. Let me share with you that I can’t hide emotion very well. Remember, I’m the girl with water work eyes. So to have someone say that I look exquisite, that I am of special beauty or charm or rare and appealing excellence, means that it is really there.
Everything is wonderful. My boyfriend is pursuing his dreams and I am pursuing mine. And we are experiencing all of this together. Our loves in life are magnified by the love we have for each other. It’s almost whimsical. I must admit that after I was given this golden compliment, my first inclination was to call my boyfriend and tell him. For obvious reasons that can’t happen.
However, I have a gut feeling that he already knew that about me.
There will be many moments like today that I will want to share with him on an instantaneous basis. Those are the times when I will call on the Lord and He will hear me. And then quickly rush home to scribble them down in a letter.
But only because that is the “exquisite” thing to do.
