Shall We Dance?

Last day of 2010. Hard to believe. This year brought numerous blessings to my life. So how does one say goodbye to a year so wonderful that it can only be described as a “Perfect 10”? Well, like any good sporting event… there is one killer highlight reel!

Let’s start from the top…

January 9: I embarked on the greatest journey of my life on this day. I packed up everything and moved to New York City. I snagged an internship with 1050 ESPN Radio and left little ole Waco with no intention of returning. Now, to list all the incredible people I met, all the phenomenal places I went, or even the delicious food I devoured would be exhaustive, so let’s just say it was beyond amazing!

February 6: I went to the taping of Saturday Night Live. Being able to drool over Ashton Kutcher, who just so happened to be hosting that night, and ogle over his buns as he ripped off his pants in his opening monologue was… was… well you know.

March 3: Attended my first red carpet movie premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater for Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks. Can we say star-studded?

April 21: I was offered a position hosting my own show on the radio station I worked for back in Waco.

May 3: Trip to Bristol, Connecticut. If you don’t know what’s in Bristol… SHAME ON YOU! ESPN Headquarters are in Bristol! After touring the facilities and nabbing a role on SportsNation, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Bristol is also where my heart lies.

June 16: I took a seat on the throne and my show was born! Can you believe it? My own radio show at the ripe old age of 21.

July 4: I made my first public appearance as the Afternoon Host of Mix 92.9 at the annual 4th on the Brazos.

August 14: I graduated from Baylor University. There is nothing comparable to the feeling of walking across that stage. Epic.

September (the whole month): I learned so much about myself in this month. I cut some ties and tied others tighter.

November 16: Do you believe in second chances? Well, I’ve never really been on the giving side of these, yet I found myself smack dab in the middle of one.

December 25: Christmas with my family this year was the most phenomenal one yet. It was also the hardest one to see come to an end. My family is truly the greatest group of individuals you will ever come across.

Cue cheesy “I-believe-I-can-fly-esque” music right here. And some sniffles would be nice too.

Hasta luego 2010!

My New Year’s resolution is to live this upcoming year without reservations! I want to leave nothing unfinished and have no regrets. I want to serve others more, pursue my passion of broadcast to its fullest, get crackin’ on that New York Best Seller, get back behind the camera and film, freelance, travel, fly a plane, skydive, take a real vacation, fly by the seat of my pants, witness a miracle, love like I’ve never been hurt, dance like no one is watching, sing at the top of my lungs… Ok this is starting to sound like some sappy song or movie. To sum it all up… I want to LIVE!

No fickle resolutions like losing weight, not cursing when I stub my toe, or actually allowing pedestrians to cross the street when it’s their right of way. I want to seek out the woman God has called me to be. I heard she’s not too shabby.

So 2011, if you’re listening… Momma’s ready to dance! I hope you know how to tango!
